It is nice to be thanked

We supported the Stars Appeal last year and are continuing our support for as long as the need us. We received a lovely hand written note from Dave Cates, who runs the appeal with his many hard working and, in the main, unpaid assistants.

Thank you Dave for your kind words

Anna and Chris

Valentine's Day 2012! We had the pleasure of capturing the wonderful wedding of Anna and Chris (Mr and Mrs Wilson).

Anna and Chris entered the Win Your Wedding competition last year and in October were told they had won. The competition was put together by the Salisbury Journal, Ladies Who Love and Wiltshire Society Magazine, supported by GOLD sponsors The White Hart Hotel, Kate Sparks Wedding TV and John Rose Photography, and a variety of local businesses all offering their services free of charge to make Anna and Chris' dream come true.

We had an amazing time with Anna, Chris and their families. They are a fantastic group of people who were so much fun to spend time with; image 1, below, is one of many tongue poking images I collected through the day as Anna and I exchanged very entertaining verbal blows during the day.

HIGHLY COMMENDED

I am very proud to announce that I have had 2 images scored as HIGHLY COMMENDED in the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) monthly competition.

I don't enter the competition very often, mainly due to lack of time but I feel it is important now and again to ensure standards are kept up, or better still my skills are improving. I only ever enter images that have been captured during REAL commissioned shoots and not ones that have been set up using models specifically for competition entry. I feel this is important to ensure I can produce quality images under pressure.

The marking system has been changed since I last entered the competition from; Unclassified, Bronze, Silver and Gold, to; Disqualified, Not Awarded, Highly Commended and Gold; I have included a description of the new award system at the bottom of this post.
