Andover Advertiser feature another of our images

Another chance to see our name in the Andover Advertiser. Claire and Paul had their picture printed last week and very kindly mentioned my name.

Quarterly Newsletter 2

Welcome to our Quarterly Update

This is an opportunity for you all to see what John Rose Photography has been up to over the last 3 months, to see where we are going to be during the next 3 months, and to see what special offers we are going to be running. We hope you enjoy reading this, our second quarterly update of the year, and that you find something in it that appeals to you. Please forward this email to your friends and family so they may also benefit from the special offers we will be running.

What have we been up to?

As you will know we started the year with a complete re-branding of John Rose Photography, new logo, website and stationary. The first 6 months of this year have been very positive with many new projects, and new clients being added to our ever expanding database. If you have not been to the new website why not take a tour and don't forget to check out the blog.

365 Project
The 365 Project has now been going for 6 months and although John has not been able to post an image every day due to work load he has continued to capture them each day and is posting them when he can. The project is now just passing Day 200 and it is continuing to challenge John. Take a look at the blog to see the full catalogue of images.

Gold and a Silver
Another Gold, and a Silver for John in the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) monthly competition. The Gold was for his image of "Margo" the cat. "Margo" belongs to Clare and Paul, whose pre-wedding portrait shoot we undertook in February. John says, "The image was a grab shot which the judges thought worthy of a Gold". The Silver was for his image of a Nuthatch which as with his previous award of a bird was taken in one of his leisure moments.

Events
We had a very long day at Tenantry Farm for the Hursley Hunt ODE. We arrived at about 8.30am and finished packing up at about 9.00pm. Despite a very long day we had a great time and made lots of new friends.

We drove up to near the Malvern Hills to help a friend out in June. It was a very hot day and John spent all day in the middle of the show jumping ring. Another great day and I was glad to be able to repay my good friend Michael Martin for his help at the Hursley ODE.

As some of you will know both of my sons play their football for Clarendon Juniors FC so I was honoured to be asked to photograph the Winterslow 1st XI, which the boys are hoping to play for in a few years, in their league cup final in Andover. Sadly they were outplayed on the night but were worthy runners up.

Other events we have covered this quarter include cricket matches, open air plays, school productions, proms, leavers' suppers, school sports days, and business events.

Ollie, Oscar and Leo
One of our favourite portrait shoots of the quarter was with Ollie, Oscar and Leo. If you follow the blog you would have seen some of the images and the story of the day. I have also had a fantastic testimonial from Donna, their mother, left on Free Index http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile(john-rose-photography)_110827.htm  "I asked John to do a photo session with my 3 boy's with an age range from 8 weeks to 12 years. It was a fun filled, happy, exciting photo session with lots of laughter, providing the most amazing photo's. John made the boy's feel so at ease, by the end of the session he was like a favourite uncle that had come to visit. The photo John did for me was exactly what I'd pictured in my head, it was quite emotional when I saw it. Absolutely fantastic."

Claire and Paul
Claire and Paul, whose pre-wedding portrait shoot featured in our last newsletter, were married on the 4th June in All Saints' Church, Clatford, near Andover. Claire looked amazing and everyone had a brilliant time.

Sharon, Grace and Jacob, with Granny Sue
We did our first equine shoot of the year with a local family. The timing for this shoot could not have been better with a local wood just covered in Bluebells.
