365 Project - Day 151

Day 151 - my boy. This is Alex, my eldest, trying on his dinner suit ready for his prom night.

Malvern Hills Riding Club

If you have been keeping up to date with my 365 project you will know that I was with my good friend Michael Martin yesterday. It was a social call but I took the chance to capture a few images; I can't resist taking a few pics when I'm out.
It was great to try some new things without the pressure of having to "get the shot" and these are some of my favourites. The first image is by far my favourite from the day, it shows the grace and power these beautiful animals have when they are in full flight, just amazing.

365 Project - Day 150

We went to see my good friend Michael Martin yesterday who was shooting an equine event with the Malvern hills as a backdrop. It really was a beautiful spot and with the sun beating down it was perfect. Thank you to Michael for inviting us to see him in action and we will see you again in a few weeks at Longleat where we will be shooting the Tractor Ted event together. If you are in the area why not bring your children down to Longleat and have their picture taken with the famous Tractor Ted.

365 Project - Day 149

We are attending the FSB trade fair at the Guildhall in Salisbury on the 26th June and we have been working on some really special offers. Today's 365 image is one of the posters that will be on display on the day; the offer is of course under raps until the day. If you want to see what these special offers are, we are running one each for our wedding, portrait, and equine fine art services, you will have to come and see us on the 26th.

365 Project - Day 147

We are now back on track so hopefully these posts will become regular again.
I went into the garden tonight to find my 147th image and came across this ant searching around a leaf. I could see something interesting in this so had a bit of a play in PS. I hope you like my finished image which I think has a bit of a War of the Worlds look; well it does to me anyway!

Shot on my 5D with a 100mm macro lens ISO 400, f 2.8, 1/50 sec. Into PS for a Topaz Dark - Night, then a Nik Bleach Bypass layer and a High Pass layer. A little dodge and burn and some selective sharpening to finish. The original is below; a little boring I thought.

A 365 slideshow

Well it has taken me a while but I have finally finished editing and framing the 365 images from the past few weeks. I will put all of the images up in due course but I thought I would give you a sneak preview with a little slideshow. ENJOY!!

Equine Fine Art Shoot

These images are from one of our Equine Fine Art Shoots. This one was shot locally with Sharon, Grace, Jacob and Granny Sue. We were lucky enough to have a bluebell wood close by and we made good use of it by getting some lovely shots of the kids amongst them.

And the Winner is

As with all of the events we cover, we ran a competition to win a framed image at the Hursley Hunt Pony Club event a few weeks ago. We would normally pick the winner on the day but the weather and time beat us so my son picked the winner at home
The image below shows me presenting the framed image to our winner Megan, with good friend "Time Bandit" (Charlie to his friends) on Saturday morning.

Silver in SWPP monthly competition

I little disappointed, but looking at my Golds from February and March probably the correct decision giving this image a Silver.
