Car Parking in Salisbury

If you live in Salisbury you will no doubt be aware of the ongoing issue with parking charges in the city. The piece below was emailed to me today and I thought I would put it on here to help ensure those persons with whom it effects get a chance to attend the meeting.

Salisbury Area Board

Dear Councillor Hill,
The Chairman of the Salisbury Area Board, Councillor Richard Clewer, would like to invite you to a special meeting of the Salisbury Area Board to discuss the new car parking charges.
7pm on Thursday 4 August
South Wiltshire Grammar School for Girls
Stratford Road, Salisbury, SP1 3JJ.

Light refreshments will be available from 6.30pm.

This single-issue meeting has been called to discuss car parking charges in the city, and is intended to allow members of the public to ask questions and give their views on the matter.  The Chairman of the Area board, Councillor Richard Clewer, said: "There are major concerns about car parking in Salisbury, particularly the removal of the one hour charge.  The Area Board has been listening to businesses and residents. From their comments we have been working hard to get the one hour slot brought back."

"This meeting is a chance to hear directly from the council what the current situation is regarding car parking charges and to influence what will happen next, including options for bringing one hour parking back and the suggestion for a car park redemption scheme."

"It is also an excellent opportunity for people to put questions directly to the Council's leadership."

If you think that someone you know might be interested in attending this meeting please forward this email on to them - all are welcome to attend.  To see the agenda (including a map to the venue) follow this link
